Woman Charged, Rifle And Drugs Seized At Wagga Wagga

Police have charged a woman and seized a firearm, ammunition and drugs following an investigation the state's Riverina.

About 9am today (Wednesday 28 January 2026), officers attached to the Region Enforcement Squad executed a search warrant at a home in Mount Austin, as part of an ongoing investigation.

During the search officers seized a shortened bolt action rifle, ammunition, and small amounts of methylamphetamine and cannabis.

Following the search a 52-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

She was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, fail to comply digital evidence access order direction and breach of bail.

The woman was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 5 tomorrow (Thursday 29 January 2026).
