Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Delacombe on 5 August.
It is believed the female driver was travelling along Wiltshire Lane when she collided with another vehicle, about 4.30pm.
The 83-year-old Wendouree woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where she later died.
Two occupants from the other vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined.
