Woman dies after Kangaroo Ground head-on

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Kangaroo Ground tonight (Friday 5 June).

Investigators have been told a white four-wheel drive crossed onto the wrong side of the road and struck a small Toyota hatch on Kangaroo Ground - Warrandyte Road about 3.20pm.

A 19-year-old Croydon woman who was the passenger in the Toyota hatch was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries but unfortunately later died.

A 19-year-old Croydon man who was driving the Toyota hatch was also transported to hospital and remains in a serious condition.

A 58-year-old Rhyll woman who was driving the four-wheel drive was transported to hospital for minor injuries.

She will be interviewed by investigators at a later date.
