Woman injured during brawl at Penrith

A woman has been taken to hospital with a head injury following a brawl in Penrith overnight.

Just before midnight (Friday 2 October 2020), emergency services were called to Aviators Way, Penrith, after reports of a group of people fighting in the street.

On arrival a group of approximately 15 people quickly dispersed. A woman, who is a resident of Aviators Way, suffered a laceration to her head after a bottle was thrown during the melee.

She was treated at the scene before being taken to Nepean Hospital for further treatment.

A male was arrested at the scene and taken to Penrith Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.

A second man was stopped nearby and was found to be in possession of a knife. He was also taken to Penrith Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.

A crime scene has been established outside a home on Aviators Way as inquiries continue by detectives from Nepean Police Area Command.
