Woman killed in Darnum multi-vehicle collision

Police and emergency services responded to a multi-vehicle collision in Darnum this morning that has turned fatal.

It is believed a truck and four cars were involved in a collision in the west-bound lanes of the Princes Freeway, approaching the Bona Vista Road exit, about 8.40am.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a woman who is yet to be formally identified, has died at the scene.

Her passenger, a teenage girl, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Two women in a second car were assessed at the scene by paramedics.

A woman and sole driver of a third car was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A fourth driver received minor injuries in the collision.

The truck driver is assisting police with their enquiries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are attending the scene and will be investigating the cause of the collision and surrounding circumstances.
