Woman released after fatal hit-run collision in Sunshine North

A woman has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries following a fatal hit-run collision in Sunshine North yesterday.

The 73-year-old Heathcote Junction woman handed herself into police this morning and was interviewed by detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit.

She was later released pending further enquiries.

The arrest follows a collision on McIntyre Road where a three-year-old Sunshine North boy was critically injured about 6.30pm on Thursday 2 June.

He sadly passed away in hospital.

The investigation into the collision remains active and ongoing.
