Woman sexually assaulted at Dandenong

Dandenong sex offence and child abuse detectives are appealing for public assistance after a woman was attacked and sexually assaulted in Dandenong on Thursday 23 March, 2017, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told the 30-year-old woman was walking on Moysey Lane about 6.50pm.

The offender, who had been seen walking with two associates prior to the attack, crossed the footpath and approached the victim.

It is believed the offender has sexually assaulted the woman as he walked past her.

The woman confronted the offender and one of his associates then yelled and chased the offender down the street.

The victim went to the Dandenong Railway Station where she reported the matter to Protective Services Officers.

The offender is described as being in his 20s, having broad shoulders, flat nose, black curly hair, swollen right eye and is perceived to be of African appearance. He was wearing a dark cap with light coloured writing or embroidery, a black t-shirt with round neck, light blue ripped jeans and a black zip-up hoodie.

Detectives have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
