Multiple Fire and Rescue Service and Rural Fire Service crews have been on scene at a fire that started earlier today involving a large amount of hay inside a shed at Stapylton Jacobswell Road, Woongoolba. Crews have brought the fire under control. It is expected to continue burning over the Christmas and New Year's period. The fire is generating large volumes of smoke which may affect the surrounding areas during this time. Residents are advised to close windows and doors and keep respiratory medications close by, if required. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
