Work Set To Begin On Presidents Park Upgrades

Get excited, Wyndham Vale - construction on a series of open space upgrades to Presidents Park is kicking off this month!

These works will deliver a new park road for safer, smoother event access, new walking paths to explore and enjoy, a new picnic shelter for family and community gatherings and more trees and landscaping for a greener, fresher park.

The $1.8 million Wyndham City project is supported by a $320,000 Growing Suburbs Fund grant.

Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Mia Shaw, said the works would boost the park's capacity to host events and enhance its appeal as a community destination.

"Presidents Park is one of our most loved and well-used open spaces," Cr Shaw said.

"These upgrades will make it safer, greener, and more accessible for everyone - whether you're attending one of our annual festivals, walking the dog, or enjoying a picnic with family and friends."

Quandong Ward Councillor Peter Maynard added: "Presidents Park is Wyndham's largest active open space, known for its unique capacity to accommodate specialist sports and large-scale events."

"These works will improve access, safety, and amenity for the thousands of people who use the park each year in line with the broader Presidents Park Master Plan - a long-term vision to ensure the park meets the needs of Wyndham's growing population."
