A Hobart Dental Trainee and a Queenstown Education Support Trainee have taken out two prestigious awards at the 2022 Tasmanian Training Awards.
Natasha Robins was named the state's best trainee at Friday night's Gala Awards Dinner, recognised for her commitment to both her work and training with host employer Hopkins Dental. Natasha is studying Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
Fellow Work & Training trainee Amelia Nankivell was awarded the Lance Barnard Memorial Award. The award is specifically given for encouragement and recognition of excellence. It is presented by the Apprenticeship Employment Network Tasmania in recognition of contribution and service to the Group Training movement by the Honourable Lance Barnard AO, former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia.
Amelia is undertaking a Certificate III in Education Support at host employer Mountain Heights School.
Work & Training CEO, Leanne Wallace, said she was delighted for Natasha and Amelia to have their hard work recognised, "Natasha and Amelia demonstrated the great value and benefit of Apprenticeships and Traineeships. It's a great career path for people, as well as being a vital part of a strong economy and a skilled workforce. Congratulations to both of them, along with the six other Work & Training apprentices and trainees named as finalists in recognition of their commitment to the work and training in their chosen field."
Work & Training, part of the IntoWork Australia Group, has operated across Tasmania for over 30 years providing employment and training services. Work & Training trained over 700 students during 2021/22, and employs more than 350 apprentices and trainees.
