Kempsey Shire Council

Work has begun to remediate five landslips on Armidale Road.

The residents and users of Armidale Road can look forward to the return of a safe and comfortable driving experience.

Council has started works on three landslips near Schoolhouse Creek and two landslips near Tynes Gap on Armidale Road. These landslips were caused by years of flooding and fixing these is an important step.

Each day the works will run from 7am to 5pm, weather permitting. Traffic control will be in place intermittently in different locations along Armidale Road.

There may also be occasional road closures, but these will be timed to minimise inconvenience to residents travelling to and from work and school.

The project is expected to finish around 9 December 2022 but as the work is weather dependent, rain may cause delays.

These works have been funded through disaster relief funding from Transport for NSW.
