Wounding Charges, Nerang

Police have charged two men following the wounding of a man and woman at Nerang this morning, 11 September.

Just after 3.30am, two men allegedly forced entry into a property on Dugandan Street then assaulted two occupants.

Police arrived on the scene a short time later where they arrested two men.

A 58-year-old man sustained wounds to his head and lower back and a 32-year-old woman sustained a laceration to the back of her head.

Both were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A 34-year-old Southport man and a 35-year-old Hillcrest man have been charged with one count each of assaults occasioning bodily harm whilst armed/in company, armed robbery and enter dwelling with intent.

Both men are due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, 12 September.

Investigations are continuing.
