WSC Statement on resignation of Greg Evans from Council

Wentworth Shire

Wentworth Shire Council acknowledges the resignation of Greg Evans from his position on Council.

The NSW Electoral Commission has advised it will now engage a Returning Officer based at its head office and conduct a count back election.

The seven unsuccessful candidates from the December 4 Local Government Elections are now eligible to apply to be considered in the count back process.

This will occur at a time set by the Electoral Commission.

The following statement can be attributed to Wentworth Shire Council Mayor Tim Elstone.

"We thank Greg for his efforts representing the community over close to six years since his election as a Councillor and wish him and his family all the best for the future."
