Councillor Steph Morgan will remain the elected councillor for Yallourn Ward, following an external application submitted to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal post the Victorian local government elections held last October.
The application sought to dispute the election's validity given the close result, seeking a second recount of first preference votes.
The application before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal has been dismissed, with Councillor Morgan declared the elected councillor for Yallourn Ward.
The reasonable costs associated with the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal application will be met by Council and have not yet been determined.
