Police have charged multiple people during a coordinated high-risk offender operation conducted across Logan on 27 May.
The operation, conducted under Operation Yankee Atlas, forms part of ongoing proactive policing activities targeting high-risk respondents wanted on warrants, breach of bail offences, and outstanding domestic violence-related offending.
Led by the Logan Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Unit in conjunction with Tactical Crime Squad officers and local patrol divisions, the operation focused on locating and apprehending offenders identified as posing an elevated risk to victim-survivors and the broader community.
During the operation, police executed 13 warrants and as a result arrested 13 adults on 36 charges.
Operation Yankee Atlas is designed as an early intervention strategy to hold high-risk offenders accountable and reduce the likelihood of further offending, including domestic and family violence-related behaviour.
Police say domestic and family violence often occurs behind closed doors and relies heavily on victim-survivors reporting incidents to authorities. By proactively targeting offenders through existing warrants and breaches, the operation creates additional opportunities for police engagement that may not otherwise occur.
This proactive approach helps create safer environments for victim-survivors and may assist people experiencing violence to disclose offending and access support services.
Among those charged was an 18-year-old Loganlea man was charged with seven counts of stealing and one count of trespass.
A 32-year-old Underwood woman has been charged with two counts of wilful damage and one count of assaults occasioning bodily harm.
Both are due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrate Court on 18 June.
A 42-year-old Springwood man was charged with three counts of serious assault of persons over 60.
He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 26 June.
A 46-year-old Beenleigh man was charged with one count each of contravention of domestic violence order, receiving tainted property, possessing dangerous drugs and commit public nuisance.
He is due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrate Court on 10 July
A 38-year-old Rochedale South man who was charged with three counts of contravene domestic violence order and count each of wilful damage (domestic violence offence), and one count of common assault (domestic violence offence).
He was remanded in custody and is due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 3 July.
Acting Chief Superintendent Peter Miles said the operation reinforced the Logan District's commitment to targeting high-risk offenders and protecting vulnerable members of the community.
"No family should live in fear behind closed doors," Acting Chief Superintendent Miles said.
"The Logan District remains committed to putting before the courts those individuals who seek to hurt those closest to them.
"Operations such as Yankee Atlas are about identifying and targeting high-risk offenders, disrupting cycles of violence, and ensuring victim-survivors know police will continue to take decisive action to keep the community safe."
The operation was conducted during Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, which aims to raise awareness of domestic and family violence and reinforce the message that violence in any form is unacceptable.
Police continue to urge anyone experiencing domestic and family violence to seek support and report offending behaviour.
