Yarrawonga will benefit from significant investments following the adoption of Moira Shire Council's strategic plans for the coming years.
The $11.2 million Yarrawonga Library, Events and Performance Precinct and the $16.2 million Yarrawonga Multi-Sports Stadium are centerpieces of Council's capital works program, with both projects progressing toward completion in 2026.
Council's Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said these investments respond directly to Yarrawonga's growing population and community needs.
"Yarrawonga is our fastest-growing community, and these major projects will provide the modern, accessible facilities needed for a thriving regional centre," Dr Emonson said.
"The new Library, Events and Performance Precinct will be a hub for learning, creativity and community connection, while the Multi-Sports Stadium will support active lifestyles and attract regional sporting events."
Other key initiatives for Yarrawonga include:
- Implementation of the Yarrawonga Drainage Plan to address flooding issues
- Master planning for the former Yarrawonga Primary School site
- Finalisation of the Yarrawonga Aerodrome Masterplan
"These plans have been shaped by community input and provide a solid foundation for Yarrawonga's continued growth while preserving the character that makes it special," Dr Emonson said.
"We're particularly focused on ensuring our infrastructure planning balances the needs of our permanent residents with sustainable tourism development around Lake Mulwala."
