Yokine evade police incident

Police have charged two people after an evade police incident that occurred yesterday, Sunday 28 February 2021.

It is alleged around 2.35pm, a stolen Toyota Corolla hatchback was sighted by police on Flinders Street in Yokine and the driver of the vehicle failed to stop for police.

The Toyota travelled through various suburbs and streets before stopping in the carpark of the Princess Wallington Reserve in Balga.

It is alleged the Toyota Corolla hatchback was stolen from a carpark in Fremantle on Monday, 22 February 2021.

The driver of the vehicle, a 13-year-old girl from East Fremantle has been charged with:-

• 4 x Steal Motor Vehicle;

• 4 x No Authority to Drive;

• 1 x Stealing;

• 1 x Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police; and

• 1 x Driver of a Vehicle Failed to Comply with a Direction to Stop (circumstance of aggravation).

A 16-year-old girl from East Fremantle has been charged with:-

• 2 x Steal Motor Vehicle.

Both girls are due to appear in the Perth Children's Court on 15 March 2021.
