13-Year-Old Kaelan Azzopardi Sells Almost 400 Copies

Local Sydney author Kaelan Azzopardi approached Press’d Publishing with a heart full of passion, an unfinished manuscript and a burning desire to be a published author.

At only 13 years of age, this up-and-coming teenage author has a creative imagination, burning desire and heart full of passion. He is also effortless in his writing style and eager to write more.

His first book, Lost Quarks and the Forest of Geosics, follows protagonist Karl Castillo who embarks on the greatest adventure of his lifetime and uncovers the secrets of the stones found over 600 years ago by Sir James Nuclei Defino underneath Mount Incapaci.

His second book in The Lost Quarks series in currently underway with release set for this time next year.

When asked what inspired him to write a book, Kaelan said: “I have always had a love for English and writing; and during our first lockdown, I found this was the perfect opportunity to start writing a book. Although technically I started writing the very first loose draft before lockdown, it wasn’t until COVID really hit us here in Sydney that I decided to actually write and publish my first book. From this, I was also adamant that I wanted my publishers and printers to be Australian.”

He was also supported by family members and friend who he would run ideas by and who encouraged him to pursue his dream of publishing a book.

“This book is exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. A great read for young adults and anyone who wants to tap into a world of fantasy and suspense. We all need this book and this writer in this era. Kaelan Azzopardi is a star on the rise, one to watch!!!” – Carmen Dominguez
