Council has awarded a Youth Development Grant of $250 each to Pixie Hodgson and Ben Bowyer to assist with costs associated with attending the NSW CHS Athletics State Championships in Sydney in September 2026. Both students have progressed through regional competition to earn selection at the state level and will proudly represent the Riverina at the championships
Pixie Hodgson has qualified as a para-athlete in the F20 classification and will compete in throwing events at the NSW CHS Athletics State Championships. Pixie secured her place at the state championships after achieving top two placings in all her events at the regional qualifying competition in Albury.
Ben Bowyer has been selected to compete in the Multi Class Boys 15 Years Long Jump at the NSW CHS Athletics State Championships. Ben progressed from Gralee School's athletics carnival through to the Riverina Athletics Championships, where he placed second to qualify for the state event.
Council wishes Pixie and Ben all the best at the championships and looks forward to hearing about their experiences and achievements on their return.
