Zoe Lewis crowned National Woolworths Cricket Blast Coordinator of the Year

To celebrate National Volunteers Week, Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia are proud to recognise Zoe Lewis for her extraordinary contribution to junior cricket and her commitment to the growth of our game across Victoria.

As an integral volunteer at the Torquay Cricket Club, Zoe has paved the way for young girls in the Geelong area, breaking down barriers and creating an inclusive, fun and safe gateway into junior cricket.

Her leadership of the Woolworths Cricket Blast Program is widely recognised, with the program becoming a cornerstone of Torquay Cricket Club. The quality of the program, combined with its scale and consistency, provides locals with trust and confidence that their children have a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where they can develop their skills and foster a lifelong love of cricket.

Zoe's involvement has transformed engagement levels as well as the planning and delivery of the program. As a physical education teacher, she understands the importance of a well-rounded sports program. Her ability to create a professional, engaging and inclusive environment has consistently earned praise from parents, while also driving increased female participation and strengthening the club's junior cricket pathway.

Zoe's community-first approach is fundamental to the program's success. By actively involving senior players from both the men's and women's teams as skill coaches, she provides strong role models for all participants. This inclusive strategy has contributed to significant growth in female participation, enabling the formation of an all-girls group and supporting the long-term sustainability of the club's under-12 girls' team.

Through her leadership, Zoe has strengthened the contribution of Woolworths Cricket Blast to the overall health of Torquay Cricket Club's, fostering sustainable growth and building a strong sense of connection to both the community and the game from an early age.

Volunteers are at the core of community cricket, and Zoe truly reflects the spirit of the game through her leadership, inclusiveness, and genuine passion for helping others.

Cricket Victoria would like to congratulate Zoe Lewis on being crowned the National Woolworths Cricket Blast Coordinator of the Year and thank her for her commitment and enthusiasm for making cricket more accessible, inclusive and welcoming for all.
