Families across NSW will continue to benefit from record investment in new and upgraded public schools with a re-elected NSW Nationals Government to inject a further $1.2 billion into school building projects.
This will bring The Nationals' total investment in public education infrastructure to $19 billion, delivering hundreds of new and upgraded schools across NSW.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said only a Nationals Government will ensure quality infrastructure is delivered for students across the entire state.
"Our track record of delivery shows that not only do we build for growth but that we will invest in modernising existing schools. Through our expansion of the Regional Renewal Program we will continue to deliver important projects for local school communities across regional NSW," Mr Toole said.
"Only The Nationals have a plan to invest in schools across the state and thanks to our economic management, we can afford to make this commitment."
Nationals' Minister for Education and Early Learning Sarah Mitchell said families across NSW can see the transformation in their local school communities.
"Whether it be a new school or major upgrade, a fresh coat of paint or a new playground, the NSW Nationals have continued to prioritise investment in our schools," Ms Mitchell said.
"In contrast, under Labor, families risk going backwards, given its track record of closing 90 schools when last in office. It's only the Nationals Government that will keep NSW and our young people moving forward."
This latest commitment is another example of the NSW Nationals' nation-leading work to give our kids the best start in life through:
• A $15.9 billion Early Years Commitment, including delivering universal pre-Kindergarten for every child in the year before school and rolling out a full suite of health and development checks to NSW preschools.
• Building modern schools that prepare students for success investing $8.6 billion for hundreds of new and upgraded schools over the next four years;
• A once-in-a-generation back-to-basics school curriculum that puts literacy and numeracy first for all students
• A $250 million tutoring program to support up to 120,000 students in 2023, bringing the total to $890 million invested in tutoring since 2021.
• Making sure we have the best teachers in our classrooms by supporting our students with a guaranteed 6% pay rise for teachers over the next two years, and a $100 million commitment to pay excellent teachers salaries of up to $152,000.
