115km/h in school zone, man charged in Hammondville

A man will face court next month after he was detected allegedly driving at 115km/h through a school zone at Hammondville yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 8.35am yesterday (Monday 19 November 2018), Liverpool Highway Patrol officers were conducting speed enforcement duties near a primary school on Heathcote Road.

They detected a Ford Falcon XR8 travelling at an alleged speed of 115km/h in the 40km/h school zone.

The driver, and only occupant, a 26-year-old man, was stopped and spoken to.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 12 December 2018 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and driving at a speed dangerous to the public.

His NSW driver’s licence was confiscated and has been suspended for six months.

The car’s registration plates were also seized, and the registration has been cancelled for three months
