The Cook Government's Infrastructure Development Fund (IDF) latest funding release will support the construction of more than 1,200 apartments in priority infill locations across Perth.
The new projects will share up to $12 million under the Fund's Stream 1 - Targeted Apartment Rebate program to help industry deliver apartments across the Perth metropolitan area, near train stations and activity centres.
Among the projects, the total number of supported apartments include 456 in Burswood, 185 at Cockburn Central, 171 at Rivervale and 36 social and affordable dwellings in Woodbridge.
The Fund provides industry with assistance for the upfront costs of connecting to essential water, wastewater, and electricity services.
Stream 1 of the $80 million Infrastructure Development Fund has to date supported 112 apartment projects, helping industry to deliver up to 8,000 new dwellings across metropolitan Perth.
Applications for Stream 1 and Stream 2 - Unlocking Infill Precincts, have been extended to 31 December 2025 or until funds are exhausted.
The IDF is part of a range of measures the Cook Government is delivering to boost housing supply, including a$400 million Housing Enabling Infrastructure Fund to unlock about 33,000 residential lots through investments in power and water infrastructure.
