Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch have charged 16 people following extensive investigations into the trafficking of methamphetamine in the inner city.
Operation Yankee Rend commenced in January following intel of methamphetamine being trafficked in Brisbane's inner north.
The investigation's closure in May resulted in 16 people being charged with more than 90 offences including trafficking in dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs, possess proceeds from trafficking/supply, possess dangerous drugs, and possession of weapons.
Throughout the investigation, police seized 1.6kg of methamphetamine, 111g of cocaine, a revolver handgun and more than $16,000 of alleged drug cash, in addition to other drugs and drug related items.



On 7 March police located a 36-year-old Redbank Plains man on Cedar Road in Redbank Plains.
It will be alleged the man attempted to run from investigators and hide a bag of methamphetamine, before he was intercepted and arrested by police.
Investigators further allege a search warrant at a Wivenhoe-Somerset Road address in Somerset on 8 March resulted in the location of a revolver handgun.
The man was subsequently charged with four counts of possess anything for use, three counts of possess explosives, two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less that Schedule 4, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4, and one count each of trafficking in dangerous drugs, possess proceeds from trafficking/supply, possession of weapons category D/H/R, possess dangerous drugs, unlawful entry of vehicle for committing indicatable offence at night, obstruct police officer and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act.
He first appeared before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 March where he was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear on 29 June.
On 3 May, police arrested a 38-year-old year old woman during a search warrant at a Hathaway Street address in Mount Gravatt East.
The woman was subsequently charged with 11 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, two counts of possess anything used in the commission of crime defined in part 2 and one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs, receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4, possess utensils or pipes for use, possessing relevant substances or things and receiving tainted property.
She is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 11 June.
On 24 January, police located a 35-year-old Eli Waters man at Le Grand Street in MacGregor, the man allegedly fled from his vehicle on foot before being apprehended by officers.
He was subsequently charged with two counts of possess dangerous drugs, and one count each of wilful damage, possess utensils, obstruct police officer and possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 20 July.
North Brisbane District City Valley Crime Group Acting Detective Inspector Sean Webster says the investigations resulted in the disruption of significant local trafficking and supply of methamphetamine.
"The trafficking and supply of illicit drugs harms communities, families, and the health and wellbeing of individuals who use it."
"There is no excuse to develop and spread dangerous drugs through Brisbane's community and police have no tolerance for it."
"Any prospective suppliers or traffickers are being put on notice that investigators will not rest until any detected supply chains are disrupted."
