2023-2024 State Budget passes Parliament

Michael Ferguson, Treasurer

The 2023-24 State Budget is about delivering a strong safe and secure Tasmania.

Treasurer, Michael Ferguson said despite several attempts to disrupt the process, the final approval of the 2023-24 State Budget today by the Tasmanian Parliament is very welcome.

"Importantly, it is a budget that reflects the priorities of everyday Tasmanians who want to see our State flourish," Mr Ferguson said.

"The Budget invests record amounts into health, education and housing, while also helping Tasmanians with cost-of-living pressures.

"We are also delivering on our record infrastructure program with road and critical infrastructure investment right across Tasmania.

"The Rockliff Liberal Government is committed to the sustainable and responsible management of the State's economy and Budget.

"It is a comprehensive and responsible Budget and we will continue to have the lowest level of Net Debt in the nation.

"Through our carefully-considered decisions we have put Tasmania in a position to deal with real economic headwinds and build a future for our remarkable State to be strong, safe and secure."
