2024 Casey Indigenous Plant Giveaway: Registrations Now Open

Our gardens provide us with an opportunity to support the unique plants and animals of our local environment.

The City of Casey is inviting residents to register to collect three free plants as part of our 2024 Indigenous Plant Giveaway.

Registrations are now open and there is a limit of one voucher per household, which allows for the collection of three plants. Visit https://www.casey.vic.gov.au/indigenous-plant-giveaway, enter your details and choose which indigenous nursery you would like to collect your plants from. A voucher will then be emailed to you.

Please have either your rates notice or a utility bill that clearly shows your name and address ready to upload as your proof of identity and residency within the City of Casey.

City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM said indigenous plants are perfectly suited to our local soils and climate, require little maintenance and have a greater resistance to disease.

"Planting native indigenous plants in your garden will benefit our local wildlife by providing food and shelter, as well as creating stepping stones so that they are able to move easily across our landscapes," she said.

"Creating a garden with a range of plant heights, different foliage and flowering times will also provide a wide range of habitat types that attract and support lots of different animals."

Registrations for the voucher close at 11.00 pm on Sunday 31 March. Vouchers are valid for two months and must be redeemed at your nominated nursery by Sunday 2 June 2024.
