Responses to the 2026 annual Community Satisfaction Survey reveal the top five important issues for Nillumbik residents are:
- roads maintenance and repairs
- bushfire management and prevention
- traffic management
- Council rates, and
- rubbish and waste issues.
In February 2026, 501 randomly selected residents throughout the Shire completed the survey, facilitated by independent third-party Metropolis Research. The survey is designed to gauge satisfaction with Council services, activities and facilities.
Overall, community satisfaction with Council performance and service delivery increased over the past year. Satisfaction with Council's performance rated at 6.90 out of 10 - an increase of 4.5 per cent on the 2025 result, and the equal highest satisfaction score recorded over the 15-year survey program.
Standout results included increases in satisfaction with sealed local road maintenance, services for older people, libraries and sports ovals.
