The start of 2026 marks an important milestone for AusBiotech as we celebrate our 40th year.
It's an extraordinary moment for an organisation that began with a few dedicated individuals who recognised the power of a unified voice for Australia's life sciences sector. Their foresight — and the dedication of those who have supported AusBiotech over four decades — means we enter another year from a position of strength.
My team and I have been reflecting on the milestone of our 40th year and what it means for our future. It reinforces our strategic north star: AusBiotech is strongest when we listen to, respond to, and amplify the voice of our members to collaboratively grow Australia's life sciences ecosystem.
Our member community in 2026 demonstrates the strength of Australia's life sciences capability. As we open our 40th year, I have no doubt that our sector will continue to deliver health breakthroughs that improve lives, strengthen sovereign capability, and contribute to Australia's economic resilience.
At every step, AusBiotech has been proud to advocate for, connect, and support our ecosystem as Australia's life sciences peak body. 2026 will be no different.
Strengthening member engagement and expanding our community
Over the past year, we welcomed members across every part of our ecosystem — from research to start-ups, scale-ups, large Australian and global companies, contract research organisations (CROs), contract development and manufacturing organisations (CDMOs), and service providers. The breadth of membership reflects AusBiotech's role as a super-connector for our ecosystem. It's a role we take seriously, and one we continuously strive to live up to.
