Cybercrime Squad detectives have charged a man for allegedly using the dark web to deal illicit drugs.
In September 2025, State Crime Command's Cybercrime Squad established Strike Force Onoway, to investigate the online supply of prohibited drugs by a dark web profile based in New South Wales.
Detectives established the user would allegedly sell drugs in exchange for cryptocurrency and send the illicit substances by mail. Over the course of the investigation, a total of 168 grams of crystal methylamphetamine (known as ice) and 51 grams of cocaine were seized.
Following extensive inquiries, about 9.35am yesterday (Tuesday 3 February 2026) strike force detectives - with the assistance from State Crime Command's Raptor Squad - executed a search warrant at a home in Seven Hills.
During the search detectives allegedly seized amounts of methylamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and electronic devices.
A short time later, strike force detectives arrested a 55-year-old man in Concord.
He was taken to Burwood Police Station and charged with 14 counts of supply prohibited drug indictable & commercial quantity, two counts of supply prohibited drug small & indictable quantity, two counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and possess prohibited drug.
The 55-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Wednesday 4 February 2026).
Strike Force Onoway inquiries are ongoing.
