A new $22 million football precinct, home to the Women's Football Centre of Excellence at the South Pine Sports Complex in Brendale, is nearing full completion.
When it opens, the complex will feature some of the best dedicated women's sporting facilities in the country, with the Brisbane Roar's women's team set to use the Centre.
While the Centre of Excellence was completed last year, the new purpose-built fields are expected to be completed over the coming months, with the Roar also starting the fit-out process in preparation for the 2024-25 season.
Local football club, the Moreton City Excelsior Football Club will also have their own dedicated clubhouse and fields within the precinct.
The Australian Government provided $350,000 toward the project under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, which supports councils across Australia to deliver local road and community infrastructure projects, creating jobs and long-lasting benefits for communities in the process.
