His Honour, Professor Hugh Heggie PSM has this morning been sworn in as the new Administrator of the Northern Territory at Parliament House.

The ceremony was conducted by His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

It marks the commencement of a three year term in public office, supporting the Northern Territory by carrying out key statutory, civic and ceremonial responsibilities.

As a former Chief Health Officer of the Northern Territory and the Executive Director of Public Health and Clinical Excellence in the Department of Health, Professor Heggie will bring a wealth of leadership experience to the role.
