83-year-old woman seriously injured in north-west NSW crash

Inquiries are continuing after an 83-year-old woman was left seriously injured in a crash at Edgeroi, 32 kilometres north of Narrabri yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 3pm (Thursday 30 August 2018), an 83-year-old woman was the driver and sole occupant of a Volkswagen Tiguan when it was preparing to turn into a private property on the Newell Highway, Edgeroi, near the intersection of Galathera Lane.

The woman’s vehicle was hit by a Toyota Prado that was travelling in the same direction along the highway.

The 83-year-old woman was airlifted to Tamworth Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Prado’s driver, a 29-year-old woman has undergone mandatory testing at hospital. Her two children, a one-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy, were not hurt.

Police from the Crash Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the events leading up to the crash.
