$912k in funding for Snowy Monaro pothole repair

K31 Trial

This week Council accepted $912,398.20 of funding from the Transport for NSW and the NSW Government Fixing Local Roads Pothole Repair program.

This program supplements existing funding and supports additional efforts by Council in the short-term repair of priority potholes and road repairs on local and regional roads.

This funding is greatly appreciated by Council and will have real impact helping repair the numerous potholes on our road network that have occurred due to the disaster events we have experienced over the past year.

In anticipation of this funding being received, Council organised a trial of a new pothole repair product – K31 – an acrylic co-polymer road based stabiliser.

Our reactive maintenance crews, along with Des from K31 Australia undertook the trial this week at the intersection of Polo Flat Road and Yareen Road, Cooma.

It is expected that this new product will help strengthen repairs, ensuring best value for money is achieved.
