A multitalented scientist returns to her first love - writing

An athlete, artist, writer and scientist, Claire Oh '13, Ph.D. '19, has allowed her disparate passions to guide her career.

Her undergraduate bioengineering studies exposed her to the use of nanoparticles to target cancer cells, ultimately inspiring her decision to earn her Ph.D. in pharmacology at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. She is parlaying her years of research and teaching into a career in medical communication following graduation.

As she looks ahead, Oh - who competed on the Big Red women's rowing team and is a competitive swimmer who also lifts weights for exercise - considers what it will mean to trade in her pipette for a pen as a medical writer for a health care advertising agency.
