Adm. Kilby Meets UK Navy Chief Gen. Sir Gwyn Jenkins

Acting Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jim Kilby met with First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff of the United Kingdom (UK) Royal Navy Gen. Sir Gwyn Jenkins for an office call in the Pentagon, Aug. 6.

During the visit, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhanced cooperation, agility, and interchangeability worldwide through exercises and operations designed to address maritime challenges. Kilby emphasized that the U.S. Navy is committed to supporting the Royal Navy in maintaining its leading role within NATO and the broader European conventional security environment.

Kilby thanked Jenkins for the Royal Navy's dedication to joint exercises like Talisman Saber , and its support in future live, virtual, and constructive environments for US-UK training.

The visit also highlighted the Royal Navy's consistent contributions to multinational maritime security efforts. Both leaders said they look forward to continued coordination and partnership.

The United States and United Kingdom share a long history of mutual maritime support, a cornerstone of their strong alliance.
