Adopt your next pet from Shepparton Animal Shelter

Greater Shepparton City Council is encouraging residents looking for new pets to adopt via the Animal Shelter on Wanganui Road.

Over the last few months there has been an influx of animals, in particular cats and dogs. The Shepparton Animal Shelter aims to rehouse surrendered or lost animals connecting them with their forever homes.

Council is aiming to find new homes for these pets, with all animals being vet checked, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for worms and fleas.

Greater Shepparton City Council's Director Sustainable Development, Geraldine Christou said adopting an animal from the Shepparton Animal Shelter was a rewarding experience for both our community and animals.

"With an increased number of cats and dogs at the Animal Shelter, we are encouraging individuals looking for a new pet to consider adoption," she said.

"Our staff are working hard to find the right home for the right animal, and want to ensure each animal's new home is long lasting and the right fit.

"If you need help adopting a pet, please reach out to our staff at the Animal Shelter. Prices for dog adoption range from $100 to $465, depending on age, and cats are $100 to adopt. We look forward to connecting these rehomed pets with their forever families."

Residents can visit the Shepparton Animal Shelter on Wanganui Road to meet the animals available for adoption and to make an application.
