The Albanese Labor Government is working with all State and Territories to ensure we support skills development in a fast-changing, modern economy.
Under the $30 billion 5-year National Skills Agreement, the Commonwealth is making available $325m for States and Territories to create nationally networked TAFE Centres of Excellence, in partnership with industry, universities and communities.
To meet the most important challenges and opportunities in our economy, the Commonwealth Government is making an extra $31.6m available to high quality proposals from States and Territory Governments to rapidly create up to six Centres of Excellences focussed on transformation to net zero, sustaining essential care services and ensuring Australia's digital and technology capability.
The Commonwealth Government is welcoming proposals to be considered, including one from the Cook Labor Government for a TAFE Centre of Excellence in Clean Energy.
These Centres of Excellence form a significant part of a vision for a dynamic and inclusive labour market where people can gain the skills they need to enter secure and well-paid work - where no one is held back, and no one is left behind.
