Allens advises TfNSW on $2.1b M1 Extension to Raymond Terrace

Allens has advised Transport for NSW (TfNSW) on two Collaborative Design and Construct Deeds as part of the $2.1 billion M1 Pacific Motorway Extension to Raymond Terrace project.

The project involves a 15km dual carriageway motorway link, various interchanges and bridges, and will be delivered via two packages:

  1. Black Hill to Tomago package by the John Holland Gamuda Joint Venture; and
  2. Heatherbrae Bypass package by Seymour Whyte.

The project will improve connections between the M1 Pacific Motorway and the Pacific Highway, removing up to 25,000 vehicles a day from existing roads.

'Following the successful teamwork on the Coffs Harbour Bypass Project earlier this year, we are very pleased to build on our relationship with TfNSW. Through this project, TfNSW has once again demonstrated its commitment to collaborative engagement with contractors, particularly in light of the ongoing challenges faced by the construction industry,' said co-Lead Partner Leighton O'Brien.

'We are very proud to have assisted TfNSW on another significant and complex project, and the development of innovative risk-sharing mechanisms. We thank everyone involved for how they worked together, and congratulate all parties on the successful outcome that was achieved,' said co-Lead Partner Kip Fitzsimon.
