The Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee is seeking feedback on a draft variation to the alternative waste treatment method under the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF). We are also seeking feedback on changes to supporting legislation.
The ERF incentivises Australian businesses to cut greenhouse gases and store carbon.
The proposed changes will give the waste sector more ways to reduce emissions through biomethane activities. Biomethane is produced by refining biogas made from waste. It can be used as a substitute for natural gas.
