The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met yesterday with Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, New York.
As strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific region, the ministers discussed deepening cooperation between Canada and the Republic of Korea on global issues as well as advancing bilateral trade, investment, innovation and defence sector cooperation.
Minister Anand highlighted Canada's ongoing commitment to growing the trade relationship through the Canada-Korea Free Trade Agreement. This agreement is key to the economic diversification objectives of both Canada and the Republic of Korea.
