Residents from across the region will come together on ANZAC Day to honour the bravery and sacrifice of our servicemen and servicewomen.

Rockhampton Regional Council Mayor Tony Williams said ANZAC Day holds deep importance in the hearts of Australians and is a day to remember all who have served.

"There will be a range of events for the local community to attend and pay their respects," Mayor Williams said.

"These events are a testament to how much our community values the sacrifices made by our armed forces, whether they served 100 years ago or are on active duty today.

"Rockhampton, Gracemere, Mount Morgan, Westwood, Bouldercombe, Marmor and Alton Downs will host dawn and day services, with marches also taking place in Rockhampton, Gracemere and Mount Morgan.

"Council is extending the ANZAC Day commemorations following the Rockhampton March with a free sausage sizzle, ahead of the expected RAAF flypast over Quay Street at 11:30am. The flypast time is a guide only and subject to change.

"The community can also pay their respects by attending the 10.30am service at Stenhouse Park in Koongal on Wednesday 24 April."

Chair of the Rockhampton ANZAC Day Committee Councillor Drew Wickerson said a special thanks goes to all the event organisers.

"It brings me immense pride that our community can attend many events across the region and honour our nation's veterans," Cr Wickerson said.

"I am looking forward to attending a local service and march and paying my respects to our armed forces.

"I strongly encourage the community to check out the list of ANZAC Day events that are set to take place on Thursday 25 April.

"Remember to check parking availability and road closures before leaving your home - you can find this information on Council's website.
