Apology To First Peoples Statement Of Support

Yarra City Council

Yarra City Council is proud to support the Victorian Government's historic apology to First Peoples.

Mayor Stephen Jolly urged the community to stand beside First Peoples on this important milestone.

"It's time we are honest about the history of discrimination and dispossession and recognise the injustices that First Peoples have faced and continue to face," he said.

"I look forward to Yarra City Council continuing to stand in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - to restore the equity, dignity, and respect that belong to us all."
