Appeal after aggravated break and enter at Wollongong

Police are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate an aggravated break and enter in the state's Illawarra last week.

About 10am on Thursday (11 August 2022), a man - wearing a balaclava - forced entry to a home on Owen Street, Bulli, and began ransacking the property.

The resident – a 79-year-old man – was awoken and confronted the man, who threw a drawer at the elderly resident, striking him in the head and causing his ear to bleed.

The resident was then pushed to the ground, as the male stole cash and fled from the home.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District were notified and established a crime scene.
