Appeal after armed robbery - South Tamworth

Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery in South Tamworth earlier this week.

About 7.30pm on Tuesday 24 May 2202, police were told a man entered a chicken shop on Robert Street and threatened the shop owner with a knife and gun.

He left the scene with cash in a blue coloured bag.

The shop owner – a 37-year-old man – was not injured.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended a short time later and established a crime scene.

Police believe the man travelled from Calool Park, into Robert Street before and after the incident.

As investigations continue, anyone with information about the incident, or dashcam footage from the area at the time, is urged to contact police.
