Appeal after child approach - Greenfield Park

Police are appealing for public assistance following a reported child approach in Sydney's southwest earlier this week.

About 6.30pm on Tuesday (9 May 2023), officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command were told a 10-year-old boy went to a toilet block at a soccer oval on Arrowhead Road, Greenfield Park, when he was approached from behind by a man not known to him.

The man reportedly grabbed him, before the boy managed to free himself and run away.

He told his mother about the reported incident who, in turn, contacted police.

As inquiries continue, investigators are appealing for anyone with dash cam vision in the area between 4.30pm and 7pm that day or anyone with further information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
