Appeal for assistance after road rage stabbing at Homebush

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was stabbed during an alleged road rage incident in Sydney's west overnight.

About 8pm yesterday (9 September 2022), emergency services responded to reports of a motorist being stabbed on Parramatta Road, Homebush.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 36-year-old male driver of a white Mazda 3 for stab wounds. He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition where he underwent surgery.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command have been informed that the man was involved in a dispute with another motorist at the location. During the altercation the other man allegedly stabbed him before fleeing the scene in an unknown vehicle.

As investigations continue police are urging anyone who may have information, or any available dashcam/mobile phone footage, about the incident to contact Auburn Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
