Appeal for info over home invasion, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance after an armed home invasion and robbery at Farmborough Heights, NSW Police say.

About 9:10pm yesterday (Sunday 14 October 2018), emergency services were called to a home on Binya Place after reports of an armed home invasion.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District attended and found a 65-year-old woman with minor injuries and a 37-year-old man with a head injury.

Police have been told an unknown male - armed with a spanner – entered the home and assaulted both occupants before fatally striking a small dog.

It is believed the man stole a small safe and cash-box before fleeing on foot.

The male occupant was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital.

The woman was treated at the scene.

Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.
