Cybercrime Squad detectives have charged a man who allegedly used cryptocurrency to purchase child abuse material in the state's south.
Strike Force Angle is an ongoing investigation by State Crime Command's Cybercrime Squad to investigate the scope and means by which offenders are using cryptocurrency to disseminate, purchase and produce child abuse material online.
Following inquiries, about 7.10am yesterday (Wednesday 23 September 2026) strike force detectives - with assistance from Raptor Squad - executed a search warrant at a home in North Albury.
During the search, detectives allegedly seized electronic devices, prohibited drugs and other items for forensic examination.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station and charged with possess prohibited drug, two counts of produce child abuse material, person produces animal sexual abuse material, possess child abuse material, possess child-like sex doll or other object and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Local Court 5 today (Thursday 24 September 2026).
