Applications Open For Healthy Darwin Dry Season Program

Darwin City Council

City of Darwin's Healthy Darwin program invites local fitness and wellness providers to be part of the upcoming 2026 Dry Season program. Healthy Darwin is a year-round initiative promoting active and healthy lifestyles, delivered in two rounds, the Dry Season (April - September) and the Wet Season (October-March).

Each season features a range of affordable community activities, including weekly fitness classes, lifestyle workshops, and short courses designed to suit a variety of ages and abilities.

The 2025/26 Wet Season program has seen strong participation in the inclusive, low-cost sessions that were held across Darwin.

"Healthy Darwin continues to be a powerful vehicle for wellbeing in our city," said Lord Mayor Peter Styles.

"We've been thrilled to see so many residents get involved. From early morning yoga and pilates to strength classes for seniors, our community is embracing health and connection."

The 2025 Dry Season lineup included a diverse range of activities such as seniors' aqua fitness, zumba, mums and bubs exercise, yoga/pilates/stretching, boxing/bootcamp classes, health-focused workshops and many more.

Activities are delivered in local parks, community centres and pools, using Darwin's open spaces and recreation facilities to inspire movement and connection.

As the Dry Season approaches, City of Darwin is calling on qualified local providers of low-cost group fitness activities and healthy lifestyle workshops to be part of the next phase of the program. Applications are open until 11:59pm Sunday 15 February for the Dry Season program that runs between April and September 2026.

Providers receive $50 per session plus a small participation fee per person, and City of Darwin offers support through digital marketing and other promotional materials. Activities must be conducted in the Darwin municipality, accessible, beginner-friendly and promote a healthy lifestyle for all.

This is an excellent opportunity for trainers, instructors, and wellbeing professionals to grow their offering while contributing to a healthier Darwin.
