Armed robbery of vehicle at Dalby

Police have taken two men into custody following an earlier disturbance at Dalby where a man was reportedly shot.

It is alleged around 8:30am, two men approached a Mitsubishi Triton on Glen Eagles Drive, Dalby.

An altercation took place between the two men and the occupants of the vehicle, a male driver and a passenger, which resulted in the driver being shot. It's alleged the two groups were not known to each other.

The two men then fled the area in the Mitsubishi Triton, travelling towards Toowoomba.

The vehicle was tracked for some time along the Warrego Highway, before the successful deployment of a tyre deflation device near Charlton.

It will be further alleged the vehicle continued for some distance before colliding with a motorbike at the intersection of James Street and West Street in South Toowoomba.

The male rider of the motorbike was transported to Toowoomba Hospital with minor injuries.

The vehicle came to a stop near the intersection of O'Quinn Street and West Street, with police taking the two men into custody just before 10am.

Officers allegedly located two firearms in the vehicle.

Investigations into these incidents are ongoing, with investigators are appealing for any dashcam or CCTV vision of these incidents to come forward.
